"Remember what Bilbo used to say: It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to.”

–J.R.R. Tolkien

Welcome

Journeys begin by placing one foot in front of another. Oftentimes the path is unclear, even uncertain. Yet, until we step out in faith we'll never go anywhere. Green Lake Presbyterian Church is a community dedicated to these simple acts of faith, love, and hope. We believe that God is active in this world, reconciling the city of Seattle to Himself through the work of His Son, Jesus Christ. This, then, is the joy of Christianity: to participate in God's work of redemption by bringing the Gospel of God's grace and mercy to the world, one neighborhood at a time. Whether you're a believer or a skeptic, we think this is a compelling story, one worthy of further thought and investigation. Therefore, we welcome you. Not as those whose lives are perfect, but as a community longing for hope and renewal.

What To Expect

Worship is a come as you are affair. For some this means t-shirt and jeans, for others it entails a blazer and tie. More important than dress, however, is the fact that in worship we meet God face to face--Creator and creation, Redeemer and sinner--as He speaks to us through His Word and Sacraments. We believe this is a beautiful thing, a meeting of heaven and earth. Song and prayer, confession and artistry, invite us into a rhythm of thanksgiving and dependence. Consequently, we believe there is no reason to be something you're not. God became man expressly to meet us where we're at. He can handle our emotions, whether they're of joy or disapproval. So, please come with an expectant heart, understanding that this is a venue where God speaks to his people, conforming them to His image.

For those with children, Child Care and Children's Church are provided, but children are welcomed in worship as well.
